Mohammed Mahmoud Khalil’s life:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

* Born in cairo in 1877 and died in Paris on 31st December 1953
* Travelled to Paris in 1897 to study law
* Married French woman Ms Emiline Lock in 1903
* The couple returned to Egypt and stayed in his palace in Giza in 1918
* Together with Prince Youssef Kamal he established the Society of Lovers of Fine Arts in 1924
* Chaired the Society of Lovers of Fine Arts in 1925
* He was the commissaire-general of the Egyptian Pavilion at the international exhibition of art organised in Paris in 1937
* Appointed Minister of Agriculture in the Al Wafd cabinet in 1937


* Co-organised the French exhibition of fine arts and décor in Cairo in 1938
* Voted the Speaker of the Senate from 1939-1940
* Voted member of the French Academy of Fine Arts in 1949
* Appointed the correspondent of the French Academy of Fine Arts on 20th of October 1948
* Sponsored the exhibition of décor Egypt-France held in Paris in 1949
* Voted the Speaker of the Senate from 1939-1940
